Hair, Lights, Action!

This last month has been crazy at school! We have working hard to get ready for our annual hair show.
Thursday the 21st was the day of the show. It was a long exhausting day, but in the end all blood sweat and tears were worth it. (Yes i said blood.)
The Day started out BAD for me, i was up all night sick then when i was driving to school some crazy old guy ran me off the road. I was not happy. But after making it to school and getting the models makeup done i started to feel better. We headed up to Sandy utah where the show would take place. once there we continued to get out models ready. About halfway through the day my model got sick and couldn't do it anymore..... so i did what i do best. PANIC! Luckily another girl in my group had practiced the part to teach models so up asked her to fill in. It was a rush to get her ready! We had spent half the day getting the other girl ready and we only had a couple hours to get the new model ready. But we are an amazing team and we pulled it off just in time for the show!!!
Here are some pictures of the day of the show!
Getting all our models dressed and ready!

Festival of Color!

On Saturday My friends and I had the opportunity to Attend Holi Festival of Colors in Spanish Fork Utah. Holi is a traditional Indian holiday to celebrate a few different things, but mainly to celebrate the coming of spring. All of this takes place at the Krishna Temple, and is an all day event.
I had seen pictures of the festival from previous years and looked like so much fun, but I had no idea why it was celebrated. So before going down to celebrate with thousands of people I decided to study up on the religion and the Holi Festival. The festival Is names Holi after a woman named Holika who was a witch of sorts and could not be burned in fire because she had a cloak that kept her safe. Because of the cloak, she would walk through fire with babies to kill them.
There was an atheist father who had continually tried to kill his son because he constantly prayed to Lord Vishnu. No matter how hard his father tried he never died. His father then asked Holika to walk his son through the fire in order to kill him. Right before Holika walked the boy into the fire, a wind blew the cloak onto the boy and Holika was burned in the fire.
At the festival they have a bonfire and burn a dummy as a symbol of Holika burning in the fire. As they light bonfire the throwing and celebrating begins! Here are some pictures and videos form our FUN day experiencing different cultures!

This is a video of the throwing..... imagine being in the middle of that. Yup it was really hard to breathe, but so worth it!

Here we all are after the throwing and festivities!

So close to Disney Land

Tonight Josh, Lily and I went to Disney on ice! It was a great night together, We watched all the greatest disney characters skate, sing and tell stories. Here are a few pictures form the night.
she caught josh looking back at her
Lily found the camera while we were in the car driving, so she decided to take pictures of josh and herself. She has already started perfecting the skill of taking Facebook pictures :)

Lily and her cotton candy mouth... yumm
We tried to get a good picture of us 3 but the show was so fun that none of us even looked at the camera.
A quick smile for the camera

The pig was our favorite. he was so cute and funny!

After a wonderful show we headed back to the car for our journey home. Lily still had her snow cone and cotton candy and couldn't have been happier. On the car ride home i asked her what the best part was and i am pretty sure she mentioned everything then finally just said "well i can't really pick a favorite cause it was all so good!" I am so happy she enjoyed it and since we couldn't go to Disney land.... Disney on Ice will have to hold her over till she gets to experience it.

Valentines weekend!

This year was a great Valentines, I might even go as far to say that it was my favorite. Since Valentines was on a Monday i feel like i got a whole weekend of valentines activities :)
To start it off on Saturday I went a very fun date with Josh and Lily. We went to Tucanos and till we were stuffed. We had everything from fish to chicken hearts. I was not the biggest fan of these, but Josh and Lily LOVED them and had quite a few helpings. After shoving our faces with meats and delicious things from the salad bar, we decided that we just weren't stuffed enough, so we had ice cream and brownies :) YUMM. After dinner we just spent the evening coloring pictures, talking and enjoying each others company.
Sunday was wonderful. I enjoyed many great lessons and talks at church. After church i decided i wanted to make valentines for people. So i went home and busted out all my baking and candy making stuff. I spent the whole day in the kitchen, singing along with the radio and watching Disney movies. I ended up make cookie lollipops, and chocolate suckers. Considering it was my first time making these, I think i did a decent job.
(the ones wrapped in a bag are the chocolate suckers)
(a special cookie just for Lily in her favorite color)
THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!
(minus the chocolate suckers)

Monday ( the 14th) i spent all day at work helping couples feel pampered and relaxed. Surprisingly, it was a really fun day! the day flew by quickly and before i knew it the day was over! After work i went and enjoyed family night with josh and his family, It was so nice of them to let me join them on valentines day so i wouldn't have to be alone. We played games and enjoyed some delicious ice cream. it is probably one of my new favorite desserts! Vanilla ice cream with coconut and cinnamon. So delicious! I also opened the gift my parents sent me... a video camera!!!
I am so thankful for all my friends and family who made this valentines so much fun! I am grateful for all that you do! I am looking forward to next years Valentines... lets see if it will be even better than this years.

I have an addiction.

Today i did my laundry and collected my shoes from my car, front entry and living room. I was putting everything away and slowly realized i was running out of hangers and space... i then decided it would be fun/ interesting to count what i had! so here is what i counted

Boots: 15
Tennis Shoes: 8
Flats: 7
Sandals: 20
Total: 66 pairs of shoes
(that doesn't include what i have in boise at my parents house)

(there are shoes under my bed too)

....and since my closet is full...

I tried to make a donation bag all that ended up in there was a shirt that i ended up taking back out cause i might wear it one day :) I am addicted to my clothes and shoes ohhh and lets not forget purses. If anyone needs anything please come take it. You may have to tie me to a chair so i can't stop you from leaving.

School Days

One of our instructors just got transfered to another school so for her last day with us we celebrated with all her favorite things. We started the day off with some lovely firemen..... they pulled up with 3 engines and an ambulance all with sirens going and horns honking. They let Jami (our instructor) put on some gear and enjoy the firemen. After our fun times with the firemen we went inside and all of us girls sang and danced for her. We then enjoyed a delicious potluck and fun stories of our memories with Jami. We will miss you so much jami and are so sad that another school is going to get to have you!
(most of the TA girls! you are all so much fun!)

(Jami couldn't keep her pants up)
(Heather, Jami and me!)

During one of our classes we had to do test how decolorizer (bleach) affected the hair. Before we started bleaching heather and Stephani were having fun pretending they had facial hair. oh the silly things we do at school!
